Earlier this week, Microsoft announced its foray into the smartphone market again, surprisingly under the Surface brand.
The company took the stage to announce the Surface Duo, a dual-screen Android phone.
But in this same event, Microsoft announced the Surface Neo and Windows 10X, the first Surface with a dual display that runs the new Microsoft operating system created for dual-screen devices.
Now, a petition has been initiated on Change.org that calls on Microsoft to offer a variant of the Surface Duo phone with Windows 10X instead of Android (via Neowin).
The petition states that Microsoft promised that its Universal Windows Platform (UWP) would work in all form factors, including phones. Because there are still many developers who want to write applications from the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) that run in all form factors . When UWP was announced, you promised a code base to run in any form factor … including phones and other small pocket devices "1965" . ] Bringing Windows 10X to Surface Duo would potentially create the & # 39; Surface Phone & # 39; with which many have dreamed for years, since the disappearance of Windows phone.
The question is: is Microsoft ready to dive straight into the smartphone? Windows market?
